Matt oversees the Conservancy’s work in western Kansas and serves as the Southern High Plains Grassland Project Manager, supporting grassland strongholds in parts of five states. He works with ranchers and other stakeholders to restore and maintain core areas of native grasslands through enhanced management and long-term conservation. Matt has personal and career experience in range management and holds a master’s degree in biology from Ft. Hays State University. Matt and his wife Shelby spend most of their free time keeping up with their 4 kids, ages 8 through 17, hunting and working on their Ness and Thomas County family farms every chance they get.
